The top 6 home repair options in KL & Selangor (2026), and where ProSquad fits

Disclosure: ProSquad runs this website and is included in this list, in first place. That placement is our own pick and is not the result of independent testing. The list is ProSquad's own research from public pages checked in October 2026. We did not book, test or review any service, so nothing here measures how good any of them is on the day.
Searching for a handyman in KL turns up directories, single-trade lead sites and job ads, all mixed together. This list is narrower: only options that send a plumber, electrician, aircond technician or handyman to a home in KL or Selangor, whether through an app, a website, WhatsApp or a phone call.
Statements about other operators below are what they say on their own public pages. We have not verified their licences, insurance or certifications, and you should ask each one directly.
No. 1
ProSquad
Why it is first: speed. A burst pipe or a dead aircond in the heat cannot wait until Monday, so ProSquad is built around finding an available pro who can come as soon as possible. You message one WhatsApp number at any time, because coordinators are online 24/7, and a coordinator looks for whoever can get there soonest, including nights, weekends and public holidays. That is about the coordinators answering at any hour. Pros are independent and are not working 24/7, and we do not promise an arrival time, so you will be told what is realistic for your job. For comparison, the JomFIX page states weekday office hours alongside a 24/7 support claim, and the ServisHero page states weekday WhatsApp support. Model: a WhatsApp-only coordination service. A coordinator finds a vetted independent pro on the ProSquad network and the provider gives you their quote before any work starts. Trades: plumbing, electrical, aircond servicing, handyman jobs and water heaters, across the KL and Selangor areas named on the site. Strengths: one contact for several trades, and no app to install. Limits: ProSquad is new and has no track record or reviews yet. ProSquad does not provide guarantees, and the relationship and any agreement are solely between you and the independent provider, so agree what you expect directly with them.
No. 2
Recommend.my
Model: a marketplace and directory that says it takes bookings through an online form, an app, or phone and WhatsApp, with a coordinator or pro calling back to confirm. Trades: plumbing, electrical, aircon servicing and installation and handyman work, alongside many non-repair categories. Coverage: names Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and many localities such as Petaling Jaya, Puchong, Ampang, Subang Jaya and Shah Alam. It states a callback window after booking, and that bookings paid through its platform carry a warranty period and a re-service option, with terms on its own guarantee page. Strengths: the widest range of trades and areas in this list, and a clearly described booking flow. Check: how the pro is chosen for your job, and read the warranty terms before paying.
No. 3
JomFIX
Model: an app-based marketplace. Its terms say it is a platform and does not itself provide the home services, with separate apps for customers and providers. Trades: electrical, plumbing and aircond, plus cleaning, CCTV, painting, pest control and more. Coverage: lists Kuala Lumpur only, with no Selangor localities named. It says providers are screened and verified, and states a 30-day service warranty on repairs. Strengths: a clear app booking flow, and published policies and terms. Check: its pages give both office hours and a 24/7 support claim, so confirm when someone will actually respond, and confirm it covers your Selangor address.
No. 4
MrTukang
Model: a Malay-language operator where technicians visit, check the problem and discuss it with you before work begins. Trades named: blocked sinks, leaking pipes, electrical wiring, tiling and painting, plus renovation. Aircond is not named. Coverage: a long list including Puchong, Klang, Rawang, Cheras, Ampang, Kepong, Gombak, Selayang and Damansara. Booking: phone or WhatsApp. It says it is open seven days, offers a full satisfaction guarantee, and that its workers are trained and certified, though it does not set out the terms. Strengths: broad Klang Valley coverage and a simple booking route in Bahasa Malaysia. Check: the guarantee terms and what certification means, in writing, before the visit.
No. 5
Home Fix
Model: a direct home-maintenance operator rather than a marketplace. Trades: painting, handyman jobs, electrical, plumbing, aircond servicing, glass repair and IKEA furniture assembly. Coverage: KL, the Klang Valley and Selangor, with around twenty neighbourhoods named, including Ampang, Bangsar, Cheras, Kepong, Mont Kiara, Petaling Jaya and Puchong. Booking: WhatsApp, Facebook, email or phone, and it says it responds within minutes and offers 24/7 assistance. Strengths: a wide mix of small jobs under one contact, with named neighbourhoods. Check: its pages do not state a guarantee, a licence or how its team is selected, and its years-of-experience figures differ between pages, so ask these directly.
No. 6
ServisHero
Model: an on-demand app where you can book providers directly or request quotations to compare. Trades: electrical repair, aircond servicing and plumbing, plus cleaning, home inspection and contractors. Coverage: lists Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore at country level, with no KL or Selangor areas named. Booking: its site says booking is now on the app, with WhatsApp and Messenger also listed. It says all its service providers are vetted. Strengths: a quote-comparison option, and several channels to reach it. Check: website booking is closed and the site still carries older promotional material, so confirm the app is current and that it serves your area. WhatsApp support is stated for weekday hours.
How this list was put together
We looked for operators that send a pro to a home in KL or Selangor and offer more than one repair trade. For each, we read the public website or app listing in October 2026 and noted the service model, the trades named, the areas named, how you book, any vetting or guarantee wording, and any stated hours. We do not rank on price or on review counts, and we do not publish either here.
The order is an editorial choice, with ProSquad first as our own pick, and it is not a score. Details change, so check each operator's own page before you book.
What to check before you book anyone
Whichever option you pick, the same few questions protect you. Put the answers in writing, ideally on WhatsApp.
- Who exactly does the work, and is it a marketplace introducing an independent pro or the operator's own team?
- Is the quote written, and what is included in it?
- Does extra work need your approval, with the price, before it starts?
- Is there any guarantee or warranty, who gives it, and what are its written terms?
- Which trade and which area does the operator actually cover for your address?
- When will someone reply, and when can a pro actually attend?
Not included, and why
Listed so the scope is clear. These are described in general terms and are not a judgement on quality.
- Kaodim: a home services marketplace that announced it would cease operating from 1 July 2022, so it is not an option today.
- Classified-ad sites and community groups: they list people who offer services but have no booking or vetting step.
- Single-person freelancers: a tradesperson working alone is a different arrangement from an operator or platform.
- Single-trade operators: plumbing-only, electrical-only and aircond-only businesses were left out so the list stays multi-trade.
- Renovation-only contractors, cleaning-only services and job boards: outside the scope of on-demand home repair.
- Operators we could not confirm from a public website or app listing of their own.
